Welcome to the 52nd DAGA in Dresden

A famous Dresden resident, Erich Kästner, wrote about his home town: ‘I didn't have to learn about beauty from books first. I was allowed to breathe in the beauty...’.
Yes, he was right. Our picturesque Elbflorenz, nestled in the hilly landscape between the vineyards in the south-west and the hills in the north-east, is one of Germany’s most beautiful cities of art and culture. The Elbe floodplains run like a belt through the city, surrounding the river with wide meadows.

Dresden is also a forward-thinking center of science and business making it an ideal place for valuable networking at inspiring conferences and congresses.
With its modern architecture and beautiful views at the river Elbe and Dresden's old town, the Congress Center Dresden is the perfect setting for DAGA 2026. You can expect interesting scientific presentations and a creative exchange with colleagues. We are looking forward to interesting plenary lectures from the various fields of acoustics.
Four pre-congress colloquia and several structured sessions on current topics, technical presentations and posters, technical committee meetings and excursionswill provide many opportunities to obtain new information and exchange professional ideas.

Acoustics has a long tradition at the TU Dresden. It began with the Institute of Electrical and Building Acoustics and is now being continued and further developed in many ways by the Chair of Acoustic and Haptic Engineering
There are extensive teaching and research activities in the fields of vehicle acoustics, technical acoustics, physics of musical instruments, electroacoustics, building and room acoustics, psychoacoustics, sound design and multimodal acoustic and haptic perception in virtual reality.
Studying in the field of acoustics and haptics is very popular, if only because the fields of work for young acousticians in Dresden and the surrounding area are very diverse and varied.

Dresden sounds and sings, our musical culture has an excellent reputation worldwide. With famous orchestras such as the Sächsische Staatskapelle and the Dresdner Philharmonie, the state capital is home to two orchestras of international standing. The Semperoper is one of the most important opera houses in Europe. Top international artists perform at the annual music festival Dresdner Musikfestspiele. Dresden's choirs, including the Kreuzchor, are an extraordinary sound experience that no one can resist.
A large number of music festivals take place in Dresden and the surrounding area every year, offering concerts for a wide range of interests.

The organisation of DAGA 2026 is in the hands of the Chair of Acoustic and Haptic Engineering. We are honored to welcoming you to Dresden.
